So, she hands me off rather abruptly to another employee. I told her what the problem was, and she stated that she was the owner. I explained that I was upset at this point at how rudely I had been talked to by the other employee, and that I had checked their policies online before I ordered and that what is listed online and what they have as store policy are different and that makes it false advertising. She became very defensive and argumentative, raising her voice and becoming patronizing me when I tried to explain further what the website said. I barely was able to get a word in over her defensiveness. When I asked to cancel my order she made a big deal of it, backpedaled, and stated that they'd accept it "this time" but in the future I'd have to pay the extra delivery charges. A slap on my wrist for being in the right apparently. There will be no future orders ever from this store.
I placed the order, then I got a message on my cell from one of the flower shop workers. I immediately called back. When I did the girl who answered instantly put me on hold with no explanations. When she finally got back on the phone she said that instead of $5 for delivery as stated on the website, it would be an additional $7. So now I'm looking at $12 for delivery.
No problems at all. Top notch service.
She then proceeded to get really defensive and argue with me, and insulted my intelligence by implying that I didn't understand anything about their city. I may be from out of town, but I've spent extensive time in Brazoria and besides that, I checked on their WEBSITE POLICIES the areas they serviced. There is no distinction of Brazoria rural or Brazoria suburban areas.
Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion and has had their own experience with Flower Cottage, I must say that I couldn't disagree more with the previous review. The customer service at Flower Cottage exceeded my expectations and I am sure many others will agree. They are friendly, helpful and do wonderful work. It is a wonderful shop with a great atmosphere. I would assume that the situation "Sarah" had with them must have been a complete misunderstanding; I cannot imagine that any of the women there would be "patronizing."
The owner is so friendly and helpful. Everyone who works there truly want to help you get what you want. They have so much cute stuff in the store! For drill team I went in to order flowers for our banquet and I received discount flowers and amazing help. Love the flower cottage! :)
At this point I just wanted to be done and decided to just pay the stupid fee so that maybe they would deliver the flowers on the date I selected and hoped against hope that they would put together a beautiful bouquet even though they were angry with me for pointing out their mistake and asking them to fix it. I don't want my friend punished with cruddy flowers just because someone else is angry.
I dislike using FTD and telelflorists because they take the cash and send the order to whomever is cheapest to deliver. Ick quality every time.
I am so disappointed in the low level of customer service I received from this shop. I will definitely never order from them in the future. I ordered flowers for a very special friend of the family for Valentine's Day who lives in Brazoria. I checked before I ordered that the address was within their delivery range. This is an excerpt I copied directly from their website: "Our shop serves the following areas: Brazoria" The address and zip code are obviously within that parameter.
I would definitely recommend Flower Cottage to anyone and will continue to do my business there!
As nicely as possible (because I don't like confrontations), I pointed out that the service they listed on the website was what I had paid for, and that the address was within their stated delivery zone from the website.
So, do what I do. USE LOCAL FLORISTS. They have a reputation to keep in their fine city and will do the best service possible. My wife and I looked at the website and chose what we liked. We had a confirmation email on order and later one on delivery. The delivery wasn't far for FCottage and the timing was perfect for our family member. Now our family member knows the quality at this place, too. A win win for all around. Shop local, get friendly service. Shop anonymously like with FTD and you will be unhappily surprised.
Bottom line: What you see on the website is NOT what you get. I would be very wary of any company or business who gets very easily defensive about being in the wrong and instead of trying to right their wrong, they insult and patronize.
